Dear Friends of WLAE,
The Christmas season is a time that allows us special moments with family and friends. It is a time for finding the joy in giving to those in need. The holidays also allow us the opportunity to reflect and give thanks for the many blessings received during the year.
In the midst of this joyful season, WLAE faces challenging times ahead with the conversion to digital television early next year. While this new technology will allow us to offer expanded services to the community, it comes with a steep price tag. The rising costs of digital broadcasting equipment together with escalating programming fees will put a strain on our annual budget. As our mission states, WLAE is to be a trusted multi-media resource offering quality values based content that increases awareness of inspirational, cultural and educational services that positively impact the lives of the people of Southeast Louisiana. We can and will continue these efforts with your financial assistance and support.
Your gift today will go a long way to ensure our viability and sustainability in the community and help make WLAE-Television Worth Watching. Your year-end donation is fully tax deductible and will help us keep some of your favorite programs on the air such as The News Hour, Charlie Rose, Greater New Orleans and the daily mass from St. Louis Cathedral. For those who contribute $50.00 or more we will send to you a hand crafted medal of St. Clare, the Patron Saint of television, as a small token of our appreciation.
As I look ahead to 2009 and our 25 th year of serving this community, on behalf of all of us at WLAE, I would like to thank each of you for financially and prayerfully supporting our efforts and send my warmest holiday wishes to you and your family.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
