Race for Orleans Parish District Attorney Begins |

The first official forum for the DA’s race is scheduled for June 26 at 8 p.m. at Cannon’s Restaurant, 4141 St. Charles Avenue. It will be sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Pachyderm Club. All four candidates are expected to attend: attorney Jason Williams, Appeals Court Judge Leon Cannizzaro, former assistant U.S. Attorney Linda Bizzaro and criminal defense attorney Ralph Capitelli. Williams is the only African American candidate in the race at this point and is expected to have the support of many staffers in the office of interim District Attorney Keva Landrum-Johnson who is not a candidate in the election. Landrum-Johnson replaced Eddie Jordan who resigned under pressure last fall. |
