In the fall election season, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was very popular in the Republican Party. He was featured at GOP fundraisers in Missouri, Mississippi and Florida. Jindal was even scheduled to headline a fundraiser for a Republican candidate in the State of Washington, but was forced to appear via video because of Hurricane Gustav.
By traveling throughout the country for GOP candidates, Jindal is not only helping the Republican Party, he is also boosting his name recognition and creating relationships with key Republicans in important states. For presidential candidates, no state is more important than Iowa, so it is very interesting that Jindal was featured at a high profile event in the Hawkeye state on November 22. Jindal was the main speaker at the Iowa Family Policy Center's "Celebrating the Family" banquet. This trip helped Jindal increase his profile in a state that kickoffs the presidential campaign. A candidate that wins in Iowa automatically becomes a major contender, if not the frontrunner, in the nomination battle.
It is no secret that Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has national political ambitions. With this extensive travel schedule, Jindal is displaying his prominent role in the Republican Party and laying some groundwork in case he decides to launch a campaign for President in 2012.
