Thursday marked the 40th
anniversary of Earth Day, a bogus celebration of the environment and the green
movement. Of course the liberal mainstream news media was in a tizzy promoting
Earth Day awareness.
Cable networks such as
Nickelodeon and MSNBC promoted numerous Earth Day television specials and
constantly aired commercials with celebrities preaching the Gospel of
environmental messages.
One of their central themes is
that Americans use too much energy and have too much of a carbon footprint.
Corporate giants like Entergy have tried to capitalize on the environmental hysteria
by offering programs to match and even double the carbon credits purchased by
customers.
The purveyors of this nonsense
hope that Americans will felt guilt for their amount of energy usage and will
feel compelled to utilize alternative sources of energy or buy carbon credits.
This whole movement is just a feel good effort led by liberals who have
succeeded in brainwashing Hollywood and the media networks.
Personally, I have not purchased
any carbon credits or abandoned the use of fossil fuels. I have no problem with
anyone conserving resources, recycling or exploring alternative energy options
like solar power. However, I am offended by the obnoxious media push and the
non-stop green hysteria.
This is being endorsed by many
people who see Mother Earth as their God and have a spiritual connection with
nature. Sadly, they are confusing the creation with the Creator, but the event
is the perfect way for hippies of the 1960’s to fit into to today’s world. In
fact, the entire Earth Day celebration was created by a hippie, Ira Samuel
Einhorn. The problem with Mr. Einhorn is that he is a brutal murderer who is
also known as the “Unicorn Killer.” This year, Einhorn celebrated Earth Day in
prison, where he is serving a life sentence for the murder of his former
girlfriend, Holly Maddux.
Einhorn was a radical activist,
an anti-war demonstrator and a friend of renowned revolutionaries such as Abbie
Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. At the first Earth Day celebration in 1970, Einhorn
was the Master of Ceremonies in an event that was televised worldwide to an
audience of millions.
It is worthwhile to note that
Earth Day was created by a murderer, who was using the event for self
promotion. It was part of the counter culture movement of the late 1960’s and
early 1970’s. Today, it is amazing that an event with such a notorious past and
a despicable founder is now viewed as mainstream and respectable.
In the last year, we have seen
Climategate and the Copenhagen conference debacle and the EPA of the Obama
administration issuing a ruling that preposterously claims carbon dioxide is
dangerous. This has all led up to what we witnessed this week, the Earth Day
frenzy.
Fortunately, global warming
fanatics are facing more skepticism from the American public. A recent Gallup
poll showed that 48 percent of Americans believe that global warming claims are
exaggerated. Back in 1997, only 31 percent of Americans were skeptical of these
global warming theories.
As more and more people
understand what is happening with global warming hysteria, they are skeptical
of the Earth Day propaganda as well. Leftist environmentalists want
to pass a global warming tax and penalize Americans for having too much of a
carbon footprint. Skeptics accurately realize that this only harms our economy
and millions of Americans who are already suffering from a horrible financial
situation.
In the meantime, the worst
polluters like China and India are not following this “green” agenda. They are
too busy growing their economies and taking American jobs. You know
what leaders of those countries did on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day? Laugh
at us!
